Introduction / overview
This calculator converts a mass measured in grams into standard avoirdupois ounces, and also works in the reverse direction. It is useful when a recipe, product label, parcel scale, or set of instructions uses a different mass unit from the one available to you.
The two fields describe the same mass. Enter either one and the other is recalculated from the fixed conversion relationship.
How to use / quick start

Calculation method
The calculator uses one fixed relationship for standard avoirdupois mass: one ounce corresponds to 28.349523125 grams. The same relationship can be rearranged in either direction.

Limitations
This tool converts mass; it does not convert fluid volume. For liquids or ingredients, the result depends on density, so a fluid ounce is not interchangeable with a mass ounce. Negative masses are outside the calculator's accepted domain and are flagged rather than treated as ordinary physical measurements.
